Sebastian Lorenz is a Research Associate and doctoral researcher at TU Dresden, specializing in human-technology interaction, user-centered design, and human-machine interfaces for highly automated systems. He holds a Diplom degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Industrial Design Engineering from TU Dresden and has been involved in research and development projects spanning agriculture, construction machinery, cyber-physical production systems, and extended reality technologies.

His research focuses on the design and evaluation of intuitive user interfaces, shared-control systems, and human-AI collaboration in complex work environments. Throughout his career, he has led and contributed to numerous interdisciplinary research projects, developing innovative interaction concepts and conducting empirical user studies with industrial operators and domain experts. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and demonstrators addressing automation, usability, user experience, and future human-machine collaboration.
