The 6G-life research hub showcased bringing cutting-edge research straight “From Lab to Life” at the 6G Conference in Berlin. Throughout the event, researchers from the Technical University of Dresden and the Technical University of Munich highlighted the transformative potential of 6G through keynotes, interactive panel discussions, startup pitches, and hands-on technology demonstrations.
In addition to the extensive program of sessions and startup pitches, 6G-life presented eight interactive exhibits. During the official exhibition tour, a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology (BMBF) visited the 6G-life booth for a targeted walkthrough. The team successfully demonstrated key findings in real-time sensor processing, ultra-low-latency networking, and human-machine interaction. These demonstrations highlighted Europe’s trajectory toward technological sovereignty.
Exploring 6G for Cooperative Mobile Robotics
In an engaging 6G session, Prof. Frank Fitzek led a discussion with multiple perspectives on the role of 6G in cooperative mobile robotics. The panel featured Prof. Stefanie Speidel (NCT/UCC Dresden), Dr. Joachim Sachs (Ericsson), Cornelius Heim (Boston Dynamics), and representatives from startups Soron Systems, twincube.ai, and EVASIVE ROBOTICS, who brought together diverse expertise from academia, industry, and emerging deep-tech ventures.
Public Debut: Introducing MilleMani
The conference marked a significant milestone for the 6G-life ecosystem when Prof. Frank Fitzek unveiled MilleMani, a new startup, on the main stage for the first time. MilleMani specializes in modular robotics powered by 6G technology. The platform enables seamless collaboration among multifunctional hardware and software modules, adapting flexibly to complex industrial tasks and daily applications. Designed to be Mobile Edge Cloud (MEC)-ready, MilleMani brings heavy processing closer to end users and devices, achieving ultra-low latency and enabling real-time decision-making for future robotic systems.
