Workshop on Post-Shannon Theory and Molecular Communication

Just wrapped up an inspiring week at the 6G-life and 6G-RIC Workshop on Post-Shannon Theory and Molecular Communication at Technische Universität Braunschweig!

From Max Schäfer’s opening keynote on Molecular Communication to interdisciplinary sessions featuring biologists, physicists, and communication scientists, the first half of the week set the stage for groundbreaking discussions.

Tuesday’s panel on the future of molecular communication sparked thought-provoking debates.
A highlight was the tutorial by Prof. Pierobon on “Usefulness and Subjectivity of Life-supporting Information”, followed by a vibrant poster session where young researchers showcased their work.

Thursday and Friday shifted the focus to Post-Shannon Theory, with talks on modulation, capacity, identification codes, and industry applications. The Thursday panel brought together voices from Huawei, Volkswagen, Technical University of Munich, Technische Universität Dresden, and others to discuss the latest progress and challenges ahead.

The workshop confirmed how rapidly the fields of molecular communication and Post-Shannon Theory are evolving—and how essential collaboration across disciplines and sectors will be to shape the next generation of communication technologies.
