We are delighted that our PhD student, Sifat Rezwan, won the prestigious award for the best demonstration at the IEEE CCNC 20224 in Las Vegas.
“This demonstration showcased the immense potential of Network Functional Compression for low-latency goal-oriented communication using a real-time control application. Functional Compression is deployed across the network using a ball-balancing robot with vision-based control. We can exhibit seamless migration of visual computation between numerous edge cloud servers while the robot balances the ball. The following demonstration showcases one of the earliest applications of Network Functional Compression while emphasizing the importance of beyond Shannon technology.”
