Simon Wiedemann after receiving both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics from TUM joined Prof. Reinhard Heckel’s group at TUM as a doctoral student. He is currently in the first year of the programme, and his main research interest is how to employ machine learning techniques in reconstructing the 3D structure of proteins from images obtained by cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-em).
