Alex Jäger received his B.Eng. degree from the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz (HTWG) in 2020 and subsequently obtained his M.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2022. During his Master’s thesis, he stayed with the Optical Networks Group (ONG) at University College London (UCL). Since 2022, he is working towards his Dr.-Ing. degree at the Institute for Communications Engineering (LNT) at TUM. He works on efficient receiver design for nonlinear fiber-optic communication systems, mainly using phase noise surrogate channel models with long correlations. His research interests lie in optical communications, applied information theory, and digital signal processing.
