Andreas Richter works on next generation microsystems based on intelligent materials with a special focus on principles of chemo-physical intelligence. He covers the three key competences of materials, 2D and 3D technologies and computer-aided system design. The applicative focus of his research is on micro and soft robotics, multimodal human-machine interaction systems, high-throughput lab-on-chip technology and medical technology. Since 2016, he has held the Full Professorship for Microsystems Engineering at TU Dresden. Previously, he was appointed Heisenberg Professor for Polymer Microsystems in 2009 and Full Professor for Polymer Microsystems at TU Dresden in 2013.
