Patrick Karl is a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Security in Information Technology at Technical University of Munich, Germany. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the same university in 2018 and 2020. His main research interests are efficient hardware implementations of post-quantum cryptography and in particular, hardware/software co-designs based on RISC-V platforms. This includes FPGA prototyping as well as ASIC frontend development. During his master studies, he worked as an FPGA developer for networking infrastructure in the automotive industry and later shifted towards cryptographic implementations in academia.
