Stefan Gumhold is a full professor and heads the chair of Computer Graphics and Visualization at the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden. His research areas are 3D scanning, geometry processing, real-time rendering, scientific visualization, mixed reality and scene understand. He is associated PI in the clusters of excellence Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) and Physics of Life (PoL), and PI in the Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI) and the Center for Perspicuous Computing (CPEC). Since 2018 he heads the environment commission that advises the Rectorate towards an ecological sustainable development and leads the working group on digitalization and sustainability. In 6G-life Stefan Gumhold researches digital human twins including real-time tracking for new applications in remote human collaboration.
